Please I need help to make my new Sony KD55XF9005 work with my current Panansonic DMR-EX98V DVD recorder.
I am told I need a scart to HDMI, but I need a clear guide and instructions as I am not a techi person.
Thank you.
Hi there,
Please see more details on how to do this here.
Let me know how you get on.
Best wishes,

Thanks for suggestion, but I am looking for converting Scart to HDMI. My
Panasonic DVD player has Scart and my new Sony has HDMI.

Hi @mlh-B55
Looking at your manual pages 10 / 11 look for *1 on AV IN [2]. *1 For an external device which has only
SCART AV OUT, use a SCART-RCA adaptor and Analogue Extension Cable.
So something like these two components (just examples I haven’t tried these).
SCART to 3 x RCA Phono Cable (1.5 metre) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00ULGUNAA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_8mKhDb9R62YZ7
LINDY AV Adapter Cable - Stereo & Composite Video https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00062UE3K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_soKhDbPSYEY3K
Hi Margaret,
Welcome to the Sony Online Community!
In addition to the solution pointed out correctly by my colleague @LightFoot referring to your TV manual (Page 10-11). I would like to ask you to pay close attention to the picture below and identify on the back of your Panansonic DMR-EX98V the HDMI output marked by the red arrow.
You will have to use an HDMI cable to connect the HDMI output from your Panansonic DMR-EX98V to the HDMI 1 or 4 on your Sony KD55-XF9005. Then you will need to enable the output of audio through the HDMI output of your Panansonic DMR-EX98V. For this, from the Setup menu of your Panansonic DMR-EX98V, set “Digital Audio Output” to “HDMI and Optical”.
Please post back also if you are using an AV Receiver or sound bar for multi-channel audio playback. As there might be slight considerations we might need to take into account in order for you to enjoy the best out of all your devices.
Cheers,
Dutchice
