Hi all,
I have just bought a small sound system (2.1) for my 2018 Sony Bravia. I have plugged it into the green port on the back of the TV.
Sound seems great however when I have a look at the Sound settings on the TV. I can’t tell if it’s set up correctly. The TV seems to recognise the speakers as headphones which is weird and I don’t understand the options such as fixed or variable?
Does anybody know of the optimal settings anyone can recommend to ensure I’m getting the best sound and connected correctly?
thanks everyone x
The tv recognize it as headphone because you connect it to the headphone jack that is rather weird! BTW you want get any 2.1 or more channel audio from that socket being an analogic stereo output. Check better the installation manual for your soundbar and tv and use a digital connection (optical or HDMI ARC better if available)

If you could let us know the model number of your TV (KDxxxxxxxxxx) and the make and model of your sound system it would help us to offer you some advice. Note no idea what a green port on a TV is?

Hello,
It doesn’t have HDMI lead, it’s just a speaker system, with a green cable to connect to the TV?

as @LightFoot wrote if you give us model identification we may try to help. It seems not possible to me that your speaker system being 2.1 has only analogue connections....
Basically you are trying to use a speaker system designed for PC to a Television, it is not the best solution..

So your option is only to have them connected to the headphone jack as you already did and try to adjust the expectation to what you have...
BTW: set it to variable in order to adjust the volume with the TV remote

That's the main thing, you have to be satisfied! and regardless my comment on being a proper Home Theatre system for sure they are far better than the internal speaker!
