KD-43XE8004 android 8 update looping(?)

Hi

I have a KD-43XE8004 Bravia Android TV that I'm trying to update to Android 8.  When I go in to the settings it says its currently on Android 7, but when I try to do the only system update it says I'm on the latest version.  So I got the firmware update from the sony website for my TV (v6.6545) - is the Android 8.0 or 9.0?

I tried to install this via a USB.  As soon as I plug in the USB it starts the process:

1. Copy the files from the USB

2. Start applying the updates

3. Reboots to the Sony screen (about halfway through the update)

4. Starts up the TV (via the Android screen

5. TV comes on briefly

6. Goes back to step 1

I've done a factory reset, tried the update again and the same thing happens.   I've even tried unplugging the USB when the TV reboots to try and force it in to the next stage of the update.  I've spent hours on this and getting rather frustrated.  Does anyone have any advice, please?

I would personally hold back on the update I have just updated my 49xe8004 and it's give me nothing but grief very buggy for me it was running on android 7 perfect
