Hi guys,
Hoping you can help a guy who doesn't know much about phones out.
I've been having issues with my Xperia E3... It started with me not being able to connect to the Wi-Fi networks at work (wouldn't pick them up). Then stipped working with our home Wi-Fi (would pick up up but be unable to connect). Then it wouldn't pick up our home Wi-Fi at all (like at work). After much reading I did a hard reset.
After the hard reset, the phone's Wi-Fi wouldn't work AT all. The Wi-Fi button was greyed out.
I left the phone for a few weeks and then tried again. I can now switch on the Wi-Fi but it still doesn't connect to any networks and the other buttons aren't responding (the plus (add network button), the wsp button).
I downloaded Xperia companion and first ran the repair. Makes no difference.
I then ran the software update which states there is an Undefined update available but it's not downloading (firewalls down).
I an not sure if there are any other steps to take to get the wifi up and running... Any advice is very much appreciated!!
Hi @HyundaiGuy and welcome to the community.
I'm sorry to hear this. If you are still experiencing the same behavior after performing a software repair using Xperia Companion that would indicate that this behavior with your device's Wi-Fi is related to the hardware in your device.
When you performed a software repair did you restore a backup prior to starting your device again? If you did I recommend that you try do another software repair then start your device without restoring a backup.
If you are still experiencing the same behavior I recommend that you get in contact with your Local support team for having your device sent in to an authorized service center for further troubleshooting and repair.
Let me know how it goes.
