After my experience with Sony over the last year which I detailed in another post I would say Do Not Choose Sony over anyone, especially not Apple.

I am probably setting myself up for a fall here, but I feel its only fair to ask what type of products this relates to?

I am sorry to read that, have you raised the issue with your Vaio on the Vaio specific forums?  The Vaio forum community is very established and can usually help move things forward if at all possible.

It depends on what you look for as a consumer.  Apple tend to pack a lot of features into their devices to make them more appealing, even if they aren't so good at what they are designed to do (for example the Ipod is undoubtably an attractive device, and is user friendly, BUT as a music player it's not in the same league as the likes of sony/cowon/creative, especially when you consider the quality of audio compared to sony.  The difference between Apple and Sony is that Sony tend to make much more specialised devices rather than the 'do everything' devices such as the Ipod and Iphone.  Some people like the fact that the ipod is basically an Iphone without the 'phone' bit :dizzy: personally I would prefer a music player that excels at what it's designed to be.  On a more personal note, I think Apple's products are very overpriced for what they are (you only need to look at the 6g Ipod Nano to figure that one out).  So to sum it up, I think it's all a matter of taste - truth is a lot of people go with Apple because they are popular and everyone seems to own an Ipod.  If your looking for a reliable, quality product that 'does what it says on the tin' (and does it well) then Sony won't let you down.
