Since the beginning of OCTOBER 2011 a thread has been poted on this site with the heading
GIGAJUKE (Martin Smith) and consists of some 23 pages of peoples concerns and frustrations that the owners had with SONY support in resolving the fact that the product was not working correctly.
At the end of November 2011 Sony appeared to have solved the issue of the GIGAJUKE just hanging and needed to be reset to turn on.
However a number of those thread users raised concerns that their GIGAJUKEs whist connected or made a network connection it appeared that the unit reported that there was no internet connection.
So this Thread is for that problem alone
Do You have this problem
Do You have a NAS - S55HDE
If so please raise this fact on this thread,
If you have a similar machine but the same problem start a new thread with the same title but with your type of GIGAJUKE in the Title
GIGAJUKE ??? - ????? NO WIRELESS OR WIRED CONNECTION TO INTERNET
The more threads for each indivual GIGAJUKE product with the same issue will make Sony aware of the bigger picture and the failings of the system that they created and should be managing and solving

I have a NAS-S55HDe and have no wireless connection for a while now. When i go through the manual setup and search for my wifi network, it only searches for about 1 second and then stops without finding anything. Previously it would have found my network and several others nearby.
Anyone have this problem and have a fix?
Had the NAS-S55HDE and two repeater units since they first appeared in the shops. Initially very pleased but soon discovered that the internet access for radio stations severely limited. Other than that it has gone well....until a few months a go when, suddenly, there is no internet connection. There certainly used to be and I certainly checked it regularly in case there was an update to the firmware. I've not seen one in two years, though.
I've tried quite a few things including plugging directly in to the router and, for a short time disabling the WAP 2K. Still nothing. Around the house it radiates well and connects to my two Sony repeater boxes as well as the router. I use a Develo mains Ethernet system and not the Sony wireless system which was slow and sporadic. The NAS is now hard wired. As an aside, the Develo kit works well serving my LED TV, Blueray player and PVR box - all of which demand 300Mb connection to the internet. On the Wlan side, which is where the Sony repeater boxes connect, there are consistent problems with connections being dropped. I strongly suspect the Sony devices as all the laptops and iTouch devices always work.
I'd really like to get to the bottom of this internet connection problem. I am very surprised at Sony's reaction to this; a company of its standing should be doing better, really attacking it and meeting customer expectations.
I suspect that they have succumbed to being a legend ........in their own minds. Note I've bought all Samsung kit since buying the Sony.
I have sent messages to
STARTTHECAR and SPECIALIST-CONVERGENCE both I belive work for sony and monitor this forum.
I suggest you all do the same telling them politly what you believe to be a failing of SOny to support the end user of thier products.
Inundate them with messages until they get the picture - its easy just go to the messaging facility and type in thier name and the search facility wil find them.
Its time to get them in on the action and then hopefully they will contact those who fiddle with the Knobs and fix the problems that they created by shutting down a server in Japan in October 2011.
START NAGGING DAILY !!!!!!
Look for any participants who work for Sony and nag them all.
Regards
My problem has disappeared as mysteriously as it first appeared - The unit would not switch off becaused it performed >>Automatic Analysis continously. This was resolved by selecting >>Settings>>System Setting>> Standby Mode>>Standard (power save)....I had never selected >>Quick Start at any time, I can now access Gracenote data although a bit shaky with dropouts on occasions.

I have had this problem since last October and have been strung along by Sony ever since.
I cannot access the internet wirelessly or wired for Gracenote data nor software updates. Also I cannot switch the unit off as it remains in a suspended state with the blue light pulsing.
It appears they cannot identify the bug and offer a solution or maybe they just couldn't give a s**t about their customers - yes the same people who pay their salaries.

Hi Simon
You have another unhappy GigaJuke owner + 2 receivers to add to your list. Like the others on this thread. I have two strong wireless networks running near ro the NAS-S55HDE, neither of which it picks up when I try to link the unit to the Internet.
I recently bought a SMP-N200, which has no problem finding the 3 wireless networks (inc the GigaJuke) in the the house.
I note that there are no firmware updates on the site. Also they do not include the full manual to download. It looks as if Sony may have washed their hands with the Gigajuke system, which is disappointing, since it's an expensive piece of kit and I've always regarded Sony as a premium supplier as far as its products and sevices are concerned.

Hi,
Same again for me.
I have a NAS-S55HDE and it loses it's connection around once evry 12 months. The instructions are so complex you need a degree in IT to get it connected again.
I have to spend money getting an IT expert in to re connect.
You need to make sure that the host unit is switched to Network at all times. Do a master reset of the client and ensure that the subnet mask is appropriately configured to accept new fibre broadband parameters. Sony Customer Care UK were fantastic although there is an English speaking guy at their Italian service desk (Salvatore?) who will talk you through it. You have to get your hands dirty but it's worth it. I've now got full DAB radio functionality after being stuck with 365 rubbish.
