Sony MDR-HW700DS Headphones and LG OLED65C6Y TV compatibility

Dear People,

On page 49 of the PDF Help Guide of the MDR-HW700DS Headphones it is written:

"When you connect this system with a TV supporting the audio device control function, an application icon available via the Internet will appear on the TV screen. You can select an input or sound field mode of this system with the TV’s remote control. In addition, you can set the MATRIX decoder [Details],"

Also, the text ends with the remark "To use the audio device control function, the TV must be connected to a broadband service".

I am using the MDR-HW700DS headphones in conjunction with an LG OLED65C6Y TV Set (running LG's WebOS).

The TV IS connected to the Internet.

Still, I fail to find the icon which would supposedly enable me to control the MDR-HW700DS's Matrix (and other) function(s) using the TV's remote control.

Am I missing anything? Is this TV set model not compatible with this functionality?

Kindly enlighten.

Hi Eric_T,

I couldn't find a PDF file that has 49 pages, but I searched with the same keyword in the Help guide and I found this link: https://bit.ly/2ZyG1Mf where it's stated that "The control functions of other manufacturers’ products are not guaranteed to work. ". So, I think that it might not be compatible.
