I am about to take delivery of a Sony KD-55XF9005 and HT-ZF9.
I have Sky Q and a Sony UBP-X800 to connect.
Is it simply a question of TV ARC to Soundbar ARC connection, and then Sky Q and the UBP-X800 to HDMI in to the Soundbar? Is is that simple?
Hi @Blumine1818,
wouldn't it be even easier to connect the Soundbar to the TV via HDMI (with ARC) and then connect the Sky box and the Player to the TV normally via HDMI?

Hi Nic
Many thanks for the reply.
That is a good point.
On the TV, not all HDMI are fully 4k compatible to my limited understanding, so the soundbar would passthrough full 4k?

According to the manual all HDMI-ports support 4K.

Perhaps I misread the input and output details in the specs section incorrectly.
I thought it referred to HDMI 2/3 only?
It's not very clear to an amateur.
Hi @Blumine1818,
you are not the first person to get confused by the footnotes.
It only refers to Cinema 4K (4096x2160 pixels) resolution and 50/60fps playback.

Thanks again Nic
Do I assume from this that I would connect my Sony UBP-X800 to one of these or wouldn't it matter?
Much appreciated
Hi @Blumine1818,
4K Blu-Rays only use 24p max, so it doesn't matter to which port you connect it.
The soundbar has to go on the ARC HDMI port though.

Many thanks Nic
I'm all set!
