Today told by Sony that apps not downloading is not covered by warranty so cannot fix! This tv is not android so apps were inbuilt into tv when purchased. They have fobbed me off for 5 months getting me to reset tv supply usb with updates taking videos of problem using hotspot to try and connect. Now tell me not their problem.

KDL40WE663 up to date on updates Sony sent a USB with latest updates. This worked for 2 weeks the back to not uploading. Works if reset but again only for a couple of times. But of course everytime you reset you have 2 input all app passwords again so not a good solution.

There's a shorthand version of this fix for the apps only, and it updates the apps, so no need to re-enter everything (under System Settings - Set-up - Network - Refresh Internet Content).

 

That said though, this seems to be related to your network more than the TV itself? Have you tried switching to a different network (hotspot for example) temporarily?

Have done all this hotspot refresh reset software update. Nothing helps. Internet fine  able to connect Chrome to tv and get apps this way. So angry as Sony have given all these fixes which havent worked now will not assist as say it is not their problem as apps! But these apps are inbuilt into the tv I cannot add apps or presumably disconnect them. So angry have nowhere else to go with this issue

So after trying the refresh on a hotspot, you still got not apps/didn't work?
