Any tips/hints on connecting a projector to my Vaio laptop.
Have had no success at all with a number of different models of projector; I must be missing something.

Hi 2711tony and welcome to Club Vaio.
Most projectors connect with a simple VGA Monitor Cable (15-pin D_Sub). Just connect the cable and press Fn+F7 to switch the output display.
What model Vaio do you have? (so I have some idea of the outputs available)
What model/make projectors have you tried? (so I have some idea of the inputs available)
What are you trying to display? DVDs? Windows Desktop? Powerpoint?

Hi, thanks.
Model is PCG-GRT 795MP; it only has USB sockets, no 15-pin.
Tried In-Focus and others that I can't remember (provided wehen I visited other people)
Trying to display Powerpoint.
Tony
Hi Tony,
Have a look under the flap at the back of your GRT-Series - you may have a pleasant surprise!!
You should have a 15-pin monitor port (No 4). You will need a VGA (male) to VGA (male) cable.
Most projectors will also take an AV input (No 5). You would need a 3.5 mm Jack to 3 X Phono cable.

On the LCD monitor you will find it connects in the 'computer' detection setting. I have two vaio's and one is HD or HDMI and the other has the monitor port. The 4 metre computer monitor cable was about £12 but the HDMI cable was 3metres for £49
what a surprise; thanks a bunch!
