DVD DRIVE for FS215E NOTEBOOK

A problem with my lovely Vaio notebook (FS215E model). My DVD drive icon does not appear any longer and I can't read any CD or DVD. The DVD type is a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K15.
Please help if you have already faced this with this type of notebook.

I had something similar to that about a year ago, I had to clean install to get it back, I thought it must have been due to some software I had installed but don't know for sure, maybe someone else knows another solution to this problem?
