I see it's not just me - I've had a similar experience with Sony after buying a supposed top of the range F series Vaio which has numerous faults, overheats and sounds like a hair dryer; and have been battling with them for a year now.
I arranged a collection over a month ago for today, e-mailed them yesterday to remind them, sat in all day and no-one turned up to collect it, not even a phone call.
This happened before when I arranged a repair and I've sent correspondence to ssscustomer.service@eu.sony.com and their head office at:
Sony UK Ltd
Jays Close
Viabales
Basingstoke
RG22 4SB
which took me some time to get.
I have to say that I got absolutely no response at-all to this correspondence. They seem to have a policy of pass the buck and when I called they said they couldn't help and referred me back to the vaio-link customer service who are some outsourced outfit and totally incompetent. I guess they hope that if they stone wall you enough times you will go away.
I don't think there is any other alternative then to take legal action but they know that most people aren't going to bother.
I'm half inclined to pay £2000 and get the equivalent Apple product. It costs a bit more but you will save in the longer run for sure. I have always bought Vaios up to this point but will never again buy a Sony product of any kind.
