every time i turn on my laptop my firewall is down and i have to turn it back on.
ap untill a month ago it was on all the time i only turned it of manualy when i wanted to....
how do i make it be permantly on like before without having to do it manualy?

no haven't uninstalled norton yet and not downloaded the antivirus you recomended
tell you if the problem is sorted when i do these 2 things

Sygate is a firewall - I thought that was what we were talking about.
You can use multiple anti virus programmes but only one firewall, otherwise you will get conflicts.

Yes, that is normal, but you can no longer update your definitions - that is a major problem as new viruses appear every day.
