Vaio Laptops do not come with recovery cds, you must make these of your own accord, upon start up of your New Vaio, there should be an Icon in the system tray (bottom right) which asks you to create the recovery discs, follow the instructions it gives. (This can be found also under the start menu as VAIO recovery tool/utility). A bit cheap of Sony, btu thats how it goes, hope this helps,
