System Crash with VAIO SZ1 & Norton Systemworks 2006

Has anyone else had problems with using Norton Systemworks 2006 on Sony laptops?

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-SZ1VP, and when Systemworks 2006 was loaded on it, it would crash with a blue screen for the first time any software attempted to connect to the net. After the initial crash, that software would work fine; but it would crash again on opening any new software that automaticaly conects to the net. I did a complete reinstalation a couple of times and finally managed to narrow down the culprit.

It was impossible to catch the details from the blue screen as it was only there for a fraction of a second, but the error seemed to be recorded as some form of driver error.

Does this sound familiar to anyone. It would be nice to find a fix, or at least inform those who should know about this sort of problem.

Best wishes,

Nick

Hi NickTEve

Welcome to Club Vaio,:smileyhappy:

You can change some settings on you Vaio to stop your PC from automatically restarting when you have a BSOD error, doing this will allow you enough time to note the BSOD error message.

Right click on my computer and select Properties..

A new window should open, Select Advanced and click the settings button in the Startup and Recovery section.

Another new window should open, deselect Automatically restart in the System Failure section, click OK, apply and OK again.

If you get a BSOD error again post back with the error message please..
