I have a VGN-A417S with a tv tuner built into the docking station.
I am currently working in Russia and want to view Russian tv on the notebook.
This is the first time I have used the tv tuner, so I am not sure if it works OK or not.
When I connect to a tv aerial cable I can get a perfect picture but the sound is drowned out by a high piched squeal.
When changing channels the sound is perfect for a second or two then reverts to the squeal. I can still hear sound under the noise but it is impossible to make it out properly.
I have tried adusting the tuning manually to see if it is slightly off tune but no success. I have checked the setup and can't find anything obviously wrong.
Any ideas?
