My 12 day old Vaio is currently away for repair. It was picked up a week ago, and today I went to Vaio-link.com and entered my Name, Serial No, and Case No into the appropriate fields.
All I get is this:
Dear visitor, your VAIO is being diagnosed and necessary actions will be taken within the shortest period
Airwaybill number / Tracking Reference
XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
The tracking reference number is a hyperlink - and when I click I just get a pop up asking me to enter all my details again.
Is this correct? I was assuming I would get some sort of info as to what was actually happening with my repair. The way they described it on the phone was made to sound much better than this is! I was hoping I would get some sort of indication as to when it would be returned to me.
If you've got the case number you could always give them a call.
Wow!
I went to phoned them just now, and loaded up the repair when I was on hold... and as if by magic the repair had been updated!
It now says:
Following parts were replaced :
HDD (60GB,HTC426060G9AT00) (S)
Ah well... at least I wont have to pay an inspection fee!
I hung up - but I will call back and see if they can tell me when its likely to arrive back with me.
Nice one:smileyhappy:
It should be on it's way home to you
i wouldnt exspect a hard drive to need replacing after 12 days
Got it back today - currently restoring my Ghost hard disk! Hope it goes the distance because my AC Adapter is at home!
It still makes noises, but not nearly as loud or severe as last time.
12 days... it was 2 days old when VL diagnosed it as faulty! Just bad luck - these things happen.
It must have been bad before they installed it, or it got a knocking in the factory
