Video capture W7 64-bit from HD source

I want to capture video from a 1920x1080 source that has HDMI output and also S-video and Composite.

I have a Roxio card (works with Composite and Roxio 2011) but that is DV resolution.

I have Sony Vegas 10, but that does not work with the Roxio capture card.

Can someone recommend a solution please?

I have Sony VAIO F13-Z0E on 64-bit W7 Ultimate with BluRay drive.

I'd like to get maximum quality to create a BluRay disc.

Thanks

The usual method of capturing HD Video to a computer are by USB or iLink (Firewire).  HDMI capture is possible but this would cost about £150 and a USB 3.0 connection would be an advantage.

What format is the original video in and on what medium is it held?

The video is cricket that's in my SkyHD box. So it can come out of the Red-White-Yellow jacks (Composite?) or HDMI.

I also saw this

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_hdpvr.html

but it does not mention HDMI. Any thoughts?

It's about the same price.

Further thought: if there is a solution that will enable saving content in my SkyHD to BluRay (inc. 5.1) then that would justify the cost.

Any ideas?

The Blackmagic box (HDMI link earlier in the thread) has these reported issues. Looked attractive at first.

Apparently too far ahead of it's time?

Video from the Composite output (Yellow) is not HD Video it is just standard analogue definition - not even digital.  The maximum resolution possible is 576i.

This is the best you will get as Sky go to great lengths to stop you transferring HD Video from their Sky Box to any other recorder.

If you want to capture analogue video there are very inexpensive ways to do it from £6: -

but you would be better to get something more reliable - Google for USB Video Capture.
