wireless problem on Sony VGN-FW21L

my wireless switch is on, the vaio wireless program sais the wireless is on, however when i go to connect to a network it sais unable to find any networks, i click diagnose and it sais make sure the switch is switched on but it is

my other computer is connected fine so its somethink to do with my laptop

You need to restart your laptop, if doing so solve your VAIO wireless issue... 1 of your running program killed your wireless service, like mine... NOKIA PC Suite uncompatible with my wireless driver... I've got wireless problem everytime using this software.
