You will see from my other posts that I am having a nightmare with my KD-65XH8096, as are others on this forum.
It has taken nearly a month of emailing back and forth with Sony "support" to finally get an answer to two of many issues with this TV and the answer is quite disturbing. A couple of the issues involved the Freesat EPG and I eventually received the following response from Sony:-
"Moreover, we regret to inform you that our TVs are not free sat certified.
As a result, we do not guarantee the functionality of the guide.
My TV is listed on the Sony compatibility page as being Freesat compatible and Curry's list the set as having Freeview and Freesat and therefore it is more than reasonable to expect it to be Freesat certified.
It looks like Sony have a built in "get-out" clause here (in addition to them blaming most problems on the owners internet connection!). Therefore If you have any issue at all with Freesat, Sony will roll out this "wash our hands" nugget.
