hi
Has anybody else had this problem with the monolitic design tv's. They are really hard to clean. I have tried all sorts of cloth i.e microfibre but i cant seem to totally get rid of the STREAK marks. i have to literally spend 45 mins constantly wiping back & forth even then its not totally clean.
maybe its to do with the monolitic glass sheet infront of the screen.
does sony do a special cleaning cloth for these tv's?
My model number is KDL46NX713

Hi,
i know the feeling, grandkids come round and that can happen, i make sure they are nowhere near it!!, best thing i can suggest other than keeping kids away from it is this, get hold of some lint free muslin (car valeters use it), it must be lint free or you will end up with bits!, keep this just for your tv and if possible get the missus to wash it separate (no conditioner) when dirty.
Hi,
these are always going to be an absolute animal to clean and best advice is dont use spirit based cleaners instead use an LCD screen cleaning fluid sparingly as this contains distilled water and a non-toxic detergent, use a lint free cloth or micro-fibre cloth and wipe gently, trouble is with these screens and their piano black reflections you will never get it 100%.
yeh my problem is my nephew keeps putting dirty fingers all over it and your right i can never get it 100% even after cleaning it for 40-50 mins.
i think sony should have a specialist cloth for these tv cause they are not like other tvs which are easy to clean. microfibre cloths do take alot of cleaning going back and forth

youve been a great help
thanks again
I have just picked up the same telly. Brasso gadget cleaner works a treat on it, no streaks at all. I got mine from tesco but you can get it from ebay etc if you are not in a rush.
Hi,
this product is for exactly what it says its for, gadgets! anything from laptops, ipads to iphones and contains one of the worst products known to man, Silicon!, it can leave everything shiny and tacky looking, not for me!
Well, what can I say, I have the same TV as the original poster and it came with hundreds of finger marks, streaks etc. as it was a display model (a replacement for my KDL-40HX803 that came with the Sony demo logos burnt in...!!!) This stuff got it clean and free of streaks without fuss and without any of the shinyness etc. you mention.
The trick is to use a very small amount, as per the instructions.
I don't care what's in it, quite honestly, as long as it works.
I always find T-Cut works amazing on everything.......
Joke.
I would care what is in the bottle i spray on my 3k screen, i've only ever used distilled water, a nice lint free/microfibre cloth and some good old waving action.

I can understand your problem. I do have same problem with my LCD screen TV. And i have tried microfibre cloths and other solution for my screen streak marks but nothing works. Then one of my friend suggest me to try ecomist microfibre towel and all my problems with my LCD screen marks gone. After using it i got get rid of all marks from my LCD screen and also it is hypoallergic and good for kids and cleans all dust from the Screen.
