Hi there,
Welcome to the Sony Community.
It might be possible that your restriction settings do not allow the device to connect with Apple CarPlay.
Check the following settings below to disable restrictions:
Tap Settings.
Tap General.
Set Restrictions.
Tap CarPlay.
Set Disable Restrictions to ON.
The icon on the right turns green.
