Notifications problem

I don't seem to be getting notifications and can't work out why. I'll get the sound notification and vibrate but nothing coming up, for example say I have two WhatsApp messages, and I'm not getting the little number 2 next to the app icon. Exact same with snap chat and fb messenger. Confused!

Just to be clear, you do get the notification light? and the notification (top bar)?

I am not receiving the number of texts etc on any the apps. I only know I have texts if the envelope is on top right corner of lock screen. No alerts on any apps (text, whats app etc)

I get it on the SMS app, called "Messaging".

how do i turn on the numbers that show up on apps ? ie Facebook

Please: As you have to create my SONY XPERIA X - (Mod.: F5121), which operates with ANDROID 6.0.1, so that you can see the yellow "globito" of the NOTIFICATIONS that would have to appear in El Icon that I have on the desk, from my Phone SONY, corresponds to my FACEBOOK.
Now, it does not appear to me.
I attached screen capture - from another phone - where this "balloon" appears.

is your facebook notifications turned on?

is it updated to the lates version?

try to clear facebook data , settngs>apps>facebook>clear data restart your device.
