Does anyone know y my xa2 wount charge wile its on
Hi @Ticker2, let me see if I can help out here.
So if I understand you correctly, the phone is only able to charge while it is turned off? Have you tried other chargers in order to see if this behaviour persists? Also, are you charging your phone using a wall socket or using a computer? It is recommended that you use a charger that is plugged into a wall socket instead of using a computer (and USB cable) to charge your device.
Another thing to keep in mind is to make sure that the charger cable is properly attached to the Micro USB port on your device, with no obstruction such as a protective case. Also, Ensure that the USB port is completely dry, and gently remove any lint or dust using, for example, a wooden or plastic toothpick.
If all this is done, try rebooting your phone in safe mode to see if the charging works better there. All apps downloaded from Play Store is temporarily deactivated while in safe mode and by doing this, you can see if this behaviour is caused by a downloaded app. For more information on safe mode and how to use it, click here.
Try these measures and let me know how it goes!
Yes pal tried all them mentioned by you and I have been in touch with Sony and they said pretty much the say, what a read is that it is a common problem with these phones thanks for the reply
Disable stamina mode.
Never add stamina mode on thanks for the info
Hi again @Ticker2,
If none of the previously mentioned troubleshooting has managed to improve the charging, I would suggest that you try to repair the software on the phone using Xperia Companion and a computer. Keep in mind though that a software repair will erase all user data from the phone, so it is advised to do a backup before the repair in order to prevent data loss.
If the phone still does not charge as intended after the software repair, I believe that the best thing to do is to get in contact with your local support team in order to have the phone sent to an authorized service center. If you have any questions regarding the service such as service routines, warranty and consumer laws, these kind of questions are best answered by your local support team as well.
Try this and let me know how it goes!
