a little problem with settings

I use swipe unlock most the times but once I made pattern.. I found that swipe is disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage.. my phone was never encrypted.
.
My 2nd issue is that sometimes I find a star up right next to clock, battery.. Etc
I haven't seen that star before lollipop upgrade

Hi Ahmed_009

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Do you use a corporate email address by any chance, as this is a common reason why the phone doesn't enable the 'none' or 'swipe' option. If you don't then you can go into Settings > Security > Clear credentials. Then restart the phone & see if 'none' or 'swipe' appears.

A star in the status bar means that you have Priority turned on - to change this you just press the volume key and a pop up window should appear where you can change that.
