I was just wondering if anyone has managed to install the new update?
From reading in the comments section on xperiablog it seems to fix a lot of bugs commonly disussed on here like low speaker volumes, battery drain, image rendering, shutter lag and other things.
According to the people that have the new build it was a 2.78GB download, which makes you wonder if this is the actual fixed build that Sony was working on and that the current 'fixed' .376 was put out to calm any impatience from users.
Either way I'm hoping the .378 fixes everyone's problems they are experiencing with nougat.
To me it's still the same as previous Android-versions, loud and clear.
Question guys - I flashed to 378 without too much issue but now when trying to root phone (first time I've ever tried) using Flashtool I get error: ERROR - Illegal key size or default parameters.
Is root not possible or available? I've got all drivers etc installed ok as I managed to flash it without issue.
I don't REALLY want to unlock bootloader as don't want to lose data, wasn't sure if this was needed to root the phone though. Can't seem to find a difinitive answer by googling.
Image rendering is fixed when viewing images in album it is quicker on .378
Hi there
I've updated my Z5 to 378(about 1.2 Gb). I've experianced the following:
- The phone freezes, get black screen, once a day - I have to wait for 5 minutes before I can reboot the phone
- The GPS is once more not working correctly, my possition is all over the place
- The volume on calls is very low
I updated my phone to latest soft using following method:
- update;
- software repair.
No issues so far (updated on 19.02.2017).
In my honest opinion battery life was way better on Lollipop (at least 3 days with average usage), though it is better now compared to Marshmallow.
I keep getting a notification to update my Android software to Nougat. Since upgrading from Lollipop to Marshmallow, my battery has been noticeably weaker and I'm concerned – given the feedback on here and an Xperia website I visit – that Nougat will drastically reduce my battery life again.
Has Sony fixed the battery drain bug yet? Or is it advisable to skip Nougat in its current build?
From my current experience, my battery life has slightly improved after Nougat upgrade. I have Z5 and I updated directly over my old platform keeping all installed apps and settings.
Camera also improved, WiFi connects faster and switched between data and available WiFi notably smarter. And the best part: fingerprint sensor is now way much more responsive.
That's interesting to know. How many hours of battery life do you get on Nougat with normal usage?
My usage is far away from normal, I work on it constantly then play on it when I'm not working
But I felt the difference in my day-offs, leaving the phone on the table most of the day and I could hardly notice any drain.
