Does the Z1 compact come with a screen protector installed?

After removing the plastic protector with the tabs on the top right.  I am looking at the screen and noticing on the edge of the screen there is a small line that looks like a screen protector? 

Is it a screen protector or just the way the screen was manufactured?

I think that should be the ASF applied from the factory.

So can a temepered glass go on top of that?  Or should we remove the ASF first?

Do not remove the ASF,apply a screen protector above.
