What does New Client Update available mean.

I am getting the above message all of the time on my phone.  I connect my phone to my laptop to do all of my udpates using Sony PC Companion.  This tells me that the software on both my ohone and laptop are up to date. V 5.1.1.  How do I get rid of this message?

Where do you receive this message? What happens if you tap on it, do you get redirected somewhere?

It's an internal update to the app called "Software Update", it will not update your operating system or increase firmware version, so you'll not find it on PC Companion.

It simply updates the app responsible for updating your software via OTA.

Hi Hampus

I get it as soon as I turn on my phone.  I get redirected to install the software.  I have installed it and I am still getting the message.

I am going to leave my phone off over night after I have reinstalled the software and see if I still get the message tomorrow.  I think maybe there was a problem when I have installed this software before.

As I just replied to Hampus

I have reinstalled the software on my phone and will now see if this removes the message.
