wifi authentication problem

Hi !

You are probably aware about this common problem with many Sony mobile phones. I have this phone for 2 weeks and stil can't solve the problem. I browzed the Net and rad a lot of recomendations. I restarted the rotor and the phone. Whatever I did I still can't connect to my home wi fi. I have another Samsung Galaxy phone connected to this wi fi, a desktop PC, a laptop and 2 tablets. As for this new Sony phoe I always have authentication problem message. The signal is exellent.

I sent e-mail to Sony support page but they do not answer. Today I talked to the guy at Sony shop and they pretend as if they have never heard about it.

I wolud welcome any real assistance. Thanks.

it's a compatibility problem between sony's phones and various routers.

sony will tell you it's not their problem and to go fix your router

your router company will tell you it's not their problem and to go fix your phone

other phones don't have this issue, buy other phones. I'm tired of sony ignoring us, now i just spend my time advocating other brands. Brings better results. Funny thing is, this gets their attention and they start replying... when i list problems they just either behave as if they don't understand or they flat out ignore me.

SIMPLE FIX RIGHT HERE.

Go to settings. Select Wi-Fi. Now u should have a list of available networks and the one u want to conect to constantly says authenticating (or something like this). So what u want it to say is conected and to do that is as follows.

At the bottom left of the screen (maybee somewhere else) you need to find an icon that represents 2 arrows circling each other, press it. Now something will pop up telling you to press the WPS button on your modem/router(this will be easy to find, it shares the same icon with the two arrows circling it and has WPS on it). So press that button(on your modem/router) your network will authenticate and will now say CONNECTED!!!!! WOOOHOOOOO. Happy browsing

what if your router doesn't have WPS or you can not access the router itself (at a cafeteria or whatever)?

What if I am trying to connect through a library network and it does not connect. I cannot even change the router settings in that case.

Making the IP static also does not solve the problem.
