Connecting a BDVN790W to a KDL46H85x

I am trying to connect a BDVN790W to a KDL-46HX85x but cannot get the TV sound to play through the home theatre system.  Each component works individually, i.e. I can play a CD with the system and TV sounds comes through TV speakers.  I have also got a Sky Box.  What do I need to do.

Hi,

check HDMI is connected to the HDMI 1 input on your tv, on remote control press options scroll down to speakers select Audio system and that should do it.

oh, and the Sky box try another HDMI input to the tv and a digital optical cable to the BDVN, no experience with Sky boxes but thats what i would do.

should add that you may want to check in settings for HDMI set up that control for HDMI is set to on.

you wont get full 5.1 sound from your tv only 2 channel audio, very few broadcast are actually in dolby digital.
