I have a Sony STR-DA5200ES but have lost the auto calibration mic. Can I still set up the audio without it?

Hi

The receiver has been in storage for a couple of years and just been retrieved for use again! I have mislaid the DCAC auto calibration mic that came with it originally. Can I still set up the system without it? Thanks!

Hi again,

i cannot remember now how its done but the link below will take you to a pdf manual and the instructions are there how to do it manually, im going on the assumption you have misplaced the original manual.

Hi,

i cannot see why not, the mic is just a lazy mans way out of setting it up by ear!, i should imagine you can set it up manually like any other home cinema set up.

Thanks for the reply.  I tend to agree with you in principle but am not sure how to go about it, particularly switching off the 5.1. and just going to use front speakers.  So, like me, do you think it should be easy to set up just the speakers I want to use manually? If so, any ideas how to do it with this amp?

Thanks
