RDR-HXD970 FIRMARE DOWNLOAD WILL NOT START

Hi

My RDR-HXD970 has been loosing digital chanels so I was relieved to find that there was a firmware update to solve this problem.

I have downloaded the update, burned it to a Sony CD-R and when I place it in the machine, press Rec Stop & play buttons and it loads, says DISC DWLD, ejects the disk then switches off.

Needless to say nothing happens and the machine isn't updated.

I have tried burning the disk a few times to see if it was a fault, but no joy, oh and I have also tried unplugging the machine from the mains for 12 hours.

Any suggestions?

Hi im in the same boat !! I have two of these recorders hooked up to Sony TVs & just cannot get the channels to save Im so frustrated with this Sony just keep telling me to re tune/re set to factory setting but nothing works ! Have you still the same problem
