DVD Writer is not Working

Hi!

I bought Sony Vaio VGN-CS11S/W in Nov-2008. my Laptop is working fine. The only problem I am facing it the DVD writer is not working. The optical drive can read CD/DVD. it can write CD, But it can't write DVD's. I checked on the Device manager. it shows on the Drivers. DVD/CD-Rom.

Can anyone please help me out asap.

which software and operating system are you using to write DVDs?

what are you trying to write?

I ask because it's not quite that straightforward to determine if DVD writing is working or not without that information. =]
