I spilt nail varnish on touch pad, used varnish remover...Help!!

I accidently spilt a tiny bit of nail varnish on the touch pad. Stupidly I used nail varnish remover on it and even though it still works, it has left a horrible smudge (it looks like some has seeped underneath the pad) Anyone had this problem!!! Or something similiar.

The nail varnish remover will have melted any plastic components.

The only remedy would be to replace the touchpad which would be quite expensive.
