Increasing Ram on Vaio VGN-N38zw

Greetings all, does anyone out there know if its possible to increase the ram from 2 to 4 gig on this machine? Seem to remembers eeing somewhere that you can't go beyond 2 gig but is this a function of the bios/motherboard or O/S or what. I'm running 7 Ultimate. Any help gratefully recieved.:smileyconfused:

Unfortunately, your model cannot use more than 1GB per memory slot = 2GB Maximum.

This will be a motherboard restriction.

Ok, and thanks, but as it is a motherboard issue, is there any chance i might be able to install 4 gig if I flashed in a later bios (if there is one). Seems a bit daft limiting something tha'll make the machine perform better.
