Laptop Sound

Hi guys, I've just bought a Sony Vaio VGN-FE31H laptop. Now the speakers on it are quite impressive for a laptop, decent sound. But when I plug headphones in it isn't very loud (i've tried with a few types of headphones). Is there anyway to turn up the volume? Or is this just how the model is?

Thanks in advance, Matt.

Hi Matt,

Have you tried increasing the line in volume in the master Volume settings...

Hi, by Master Volume settings do you mean.....Control panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Volume tab? If so, yes that's up to maximum.

Master volume can be found by right clicking on the speaker in the system tray and selecting Open Volume Control..

The volume control was all the way up, but 'SW Synth' was only 3 quarters up so i put that to full, and its gone louder

What is SW Synth, is it ok to put it on full?

 SW synth is basically a Software Synthesizer, not sure why it would help your headphones volume though but if it helps then I would leave the setting at full...
