USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port.
I started getting this message out of the blue on my laptop (VGN-SZ2XP) via a pop up bubble that never goes away. All my usb ports now don't work. I did'nt have any devices plugged in at the time to either of the 2 usb ports on this laptop.
I have been online to try and find a solution to no avail, some seem to think its a XP problem others a hardware/MOBO fault. But its not particular to any brand of computer.
I have disabled the usb port in question as that is the only way to get rid of the constant error message in the bubble popping up (it is very annoying). I have reinstalled windows but the problem persists.
Please advise ?
thanks

Hi napper99 and welcome to Club Vaio.
You can turn off the warnings. Have you tried resetting the USB device/port?
Have a look HERE
i've turned off the warning but not comfortable with resetting the usb port in this manner. By the authors own admission it is ugly and a workaround.
How do i go about geting sony to look at this ? Its obviously a fault.
Any ideas?
