I cannot say that is not possible, I cannot also advise that it should be done.

The question would be: What do you win in just having one drive?. I think that anything, because normally the drive C stores programs and the drive D Data.

I don't believe that there will be a performance earnings.

The one that I imagine is you to use an old resource of DOS and to format the disk C.

Then you would have the wanted result. But I cannot assure that with the recovery disk you could install Windows without doing the partition. I think it is possible. But it is not advisable.

I still asking again, because you won't win anything in performance and it will be necessary a great care when it stores information (data) in her personal computer.

It is only a point of view than a technical subject.
