VGX-TP3Z/B problems

does anyone know what the latest version of Win DVD is?

I've been having major problems getting Blu Ray disks to play through my Bravia, and was looking to get an update, but no one at Sony can tell me what version I should be using.

The one currently installed on the unit is 8.0.9.387

I can't get windvd to play blu-ray at full size. Please help!!!

When I play a blu-ray disk, the picture is diplayed top letf, using about 60% of the TV screen (which is 1080p).

Anyone had this?

The only solution I've found for the Bluray 2 channel sound problem is to upgrade the software. Both WinDVD 9 and PowerDVD Ultra 8 support Dolby TrueHD 7 channel audio (as is present on e.g. Casino Royale).

I went for PowerDVD Ultra - though it's only with the recent 2217a patch they finally sorted out 5.1 multichannel downmixing via HDMI - I had to use the optical connection up until then. I'm still only getting 5.1 out (not 7.1 which my Onkyo amp would decode) but sounds pretty darn good. The next challenge is why BonusView isn't working properly (PiP) - lots of screen break up. Might be down to the backlevel nVidia driver on the TP3Z - 167.60. 179.28 is available for download from the nVidia site though not certified for VAIOs.

Anyone got TrueHD downsampling and / or BonusView working on the TP3Z with either supplied or upgraded software ?
