In order to install XP on my Vaio VGN-FZ11SR I have formatted hard drive contained Vista.
But now XP installer can't even find hard drive at all! Installer doesn't 'see' it!
What could I do to install XP?
1. Check in BIOS an operating mode of controller HDD
2. During installation XP it is necessary to establish special driver for HDD (Press F6 to establish driver SCSI or RAID)
3. If does not help, then it is necessary to integrate Sata driver into an image of installation disk with XP by means of nLite.
Thanks a lot!
I have tried to download drivers from here: ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/OS/XPDOWNGRADE/
...but have not found a proper driver for the video card (Nvidia GeForce 8400M).
Where could I get it from?
Would be grateful for any help!
Hi doc79 and welcome.
There are only beta drivers available. Try this one: -
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=14549
NVIDIA ForceWare GeForce Go 156.10 WHQL XP
Supported videocards:
GeForce Go 6150
GeForce Go 7300
GeForce Go 7400
GeForce Go 7600
GeForce 8600M GT
GeForce 8400M GS
GeForce 8400M G
Doesn't work. Obviously these drivers are for desktop systems.
It is very strange. On mine FE41ZR this drivers perfectly work. There is GF 7600 Go.
But on VGN-FZ11SR GeForce 8400M GT
There are some drivers. Described in other topics, or contact me - i'll give the link.
