Why would you change something that is perfect?

Ok.... Long time Xperia customer here. have had all three and am currently on the Z3. these are the best phones I have ever had the pleasure of working with.

up until now I have never had a complaint other than the durability of the glass screen on the z2 but anyway...

so I just downloaded this update that is totally uncalled for. My phone is no running slow and lagging my talk to text is not working anywhere near as good as it was before the update. Everything is slow now.

and this is a big one here. I cannot for the life of me figure out why you would change the picture choice format when attaching an image to a text message. there was absolutely nothing wrong with it it worked perfectly the layout was absolutely perfect. But for some reason you guys felt that it was too perfect I guess. I need this changed back to normal.

This is very important my phone is substandard now to what it was prior to this malicious update.

If i do a factory reset, will my device revert back to the optimal layout? I would much rather have the more user friendly streamlined version instead of this ridiculous "update". I wouldn't have even downloaded it except updates are usually progressive and move forward making improvements rather than creating problems and ruining systems that did not need improving because they were perfect as is.

If you upgraded over your previous Kitkat version, you may suffer from slowness and glitches due to residual files from previous version. I'd suggest that you do a PC Companion phone repair, this will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory. Don't forget to back up your data before you proceed.

Open PC companion -> Support zone -> Phone/tablet software update -> Repair my phone/tablet (blue link style). Follow the steps given, do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable.

Thanks that sounds like a great solution to fix the lagging and slow performance. However I cannot stand the new layout when I am attempting to attach a photo to a text message you used to be able to zoom in or out over the entire photo album now you only have a side by side choice and you have to scroll for 15 minutes to get to something down towards the bottom you cannot zoom out and have a Birdseye view from 4 to 100 pictures... It makes it extremely difficult.
