Flash light is comparable to natural light. It's really good. If you are shooting an eventi with flash, you'll have strong shadow area, where flash is not hitting, and here the quality of light will different from flash (the one that come from the ambient).   Tungsten light is a wide range of possibilitys. I have in garage some old school Philips bulb specialized for photography and video with declared K°. Those are really good (not as flash and natural light, but good). Other cheaper can be worst, anyway good.   The worst bulbs are the one based on gas (fluorescent and discharge), with bad dominant. Also some cheap LED bulb can be really problematic. In general all the situation where you have to spend a lot of time to regulate WB are bad also for noise in shadows.   The sensor of A7rii is still on the top of quality for dynamic range. For sure analog and digital signal processors are way better in newer models, and you find difference on color coherence expecially at high iso. ... View more

I can't agree with you. All main actor on camera world don't add features that had not included at presentation, or on early few month by presentation (like Canon do), or just key features on top cameras (like Sony do), or to save his losed market (like Nikon do).   Sony had introduced several features on first and second alpha series, when it had to grow in the market and had to learn how photo's world work and what photographer need. From third alpha series, sony's camera has become stable and consistant, and with a growing professional market that dont' need new features like a smartphone, but consistant performance. No really noticeable features are added, only some promised function to top level A1, and a new integration to newer remote app system.   Yes, probably a focus stacking could be added to A6000 functionality, but who should pay for an upgrade of a 10 year old camera?   You can't say that sony ignore customers, becouse actually it's not. Dynamic range and digital noise (the two factor that impact on shadow recover) is more complex than it appear. You can find online some instruments to compare and evaluate the noise level and dynamic range (usually I use dxomark compare tool), but it works only as a compare from a sensor to another. In the real world the quality of light impact on the quality of the photo more than we can image. An example:  - 1600 iso, daylight, correct exposition. In almost all modern fullframe cameras you have very little noise, and you can easily recover shadow  - 1600 iso, artificial light (bad fluorescence lamps with 2800K), correct exposition. Probably you find more noise than you image. It's because of the limited light spectre you have to light the scene, so when you have to recover dominants and WB, you ask more from some type of pixel (usually blue) and the result is more (blue) noise.   So, my answer is            I DON'T KNOW and aside            WITH WHAT CAMERA?   At the end, you should define an objective level of noise to define a "good quality image" to find an answer to how you can push iso ... That's the reality. The light reflect in the skin like in all other glossy surface. If you want to avoid reflection on the surface, you have to make matt that surface (first of all the skin must be dry, as second step you can try with makeup.. but it's hard). Otherwise you have to save the high lights with a strong underexposure. Or (imo better, but I don't know wich is the purpose of your project) avoid angulation in wich you have reflection. ... yes and no.. the image you see on the screen of the camera is the raw with internal profile applied. Actually it’s the same as a jpg internally generate. You can do not choose a picture profile but to display a raw a profile must be applied. As default the camera apply standard profile.   At the end: real-time zebra and blinking areas are instruments, and you have to know how they work to be able to use them. Now you know that even if zebra or blinking areas are on, you can try to rescue those areas with some hope to save the pictures, but if you want to be sure, you must stay away from those signs. ... Are you sure that you are testing sony and canon lens in the same situation?   Because I find that issue in all sony ‘s mirrorless, with any lens. I don’t think that “godox” have a role in this issue.   For me the issue is in the management of sensor from sony’s camera. The issue come out when there is a big difference between the liveview conditions and the shooting condition. Tipical situation:  - very dark situation to be shot  - flash powered on, exposure settings in manual with a reasonable iso number  - when you see the scene in liveview the camera have to push up the sensor sensitivity, because have to show you the scene well exposed (also if the light is very poor)  - when you press to shot the picture, the camera have to reset all sensor parameters at the datas you have choose, in this transition it lost a big quantity of time (up to 2-3 seconds)   It’s terrible when happen, and I really can’t understand why is still present also in last cameras. It’s easy to be replayed, and easy to be studied.   It’s the worst issue I’ve found in sony. I hate him. ... View more
